Room 101 inspirations by Cactussilver

Room 101 Jewelry Guidebook. A comprehensive understanding of Room 101 Jewelry.

Who is Matt Booth, & what is Room 101?

ROOM 101 is a prestigious gothic jewelry designer chain founded in 2003 by musician Matt Booth, who was sparked by his obsession with personalized jewelry to found his own brand, which today, sits atop the gothic jewelry world alongside titans like Chrome Hearts. Just like almost every other motorbiker silver jewelry craftsman out there, Matt Booth's history has been unique. He is a gothic jeweler, bass player, tattooist, and an ex Marine.

Matt Booth's Inspiration - Where it comes from

Being a U.S. Marine sent to the Far East, Matt Booth felt the deep culture in Asia and the Middle East especially engaging. Matt Booth's experience as a marine proved to be a significant time both in his personal life & his career as a jeweler. He emigrated back to Hollywood in 2000 to pursue music as a bass player. As he went, Matt Booth stumbled onto jewelry through his participation in the music industry and “instantly became obsessed & began tinkering with the craft. Matt Booth quickly identified a market for biker silver jewelry, & set about making reputation for himself in the sterling silver biker jewelry scene. Room 101 was created in 2003 and is presently reaching its seventh birthday. It is this joining of Asian Exposure together with many nights of soaking up the feelings on the Sunset Strip that give Room 101 its base in both style and forge. Because of his rock musician experience, Matt Booth's Room 101 designs are also edgy, profound & somewhat anarchistic in mood & style. Due to his Asian living, Matt Booth's Room 101 motorbiker silver jewelry works successfully create a paganistic, ritualistic vibe which few jewelers have been able to recapture. Years later, Matt Booth's Asian experiences became the impetus for his design of FU, the most controversial and popular of Matt Booth's Room 101 gothic jewelry Collection.

Matt Booth's Room 101 gothic jewelry is a cut above most; the items feel pleasantly heavy & well-crafted. Room 101 gothic jewelry pieces are really nice to wear, & the keen eye to nitty gritties in each piece of motorbiker sterling silver is unparalleled. While Room 101 has also initiated moving into diamond, platinum & white gold jewelry to tap into a larger base of fans of silver sterling, Room 101's silver sterling gothic jewelry remains the hallmark of the Room 101 chain, and die-hard bikers continue to form the mass of Matt Booth's fan base. Through the past 3 years, Room 101 has been appearing in top lifestyle, fashion, & specialty magazines globally, & has made appearances on important network television. The brand is slowly but surely gaining speed, gathering momentum and hitting the big time. Room 101's foreign & domestic customer base continues to grow and challenge established giants such as Chrome Hearts and Bill Wall Leather. At this time, Room 101 is sold in a number of premier lines worldwide, in the US, Canada, HK, Japan and Korea.
